Sibelius 5 is not officially supported on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion, just as it is not officially supported on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. If you wish to run Mac OS 10.8, you are advised to upgrade to Sibelius 7. On Mac OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion), Sibelius 5 will crash when attempting to play back. Don't panic: you can simply go ahead and register via your web browser instead. using the radio button that is chosen by default when Register Sibelius opens, as soon as you click Next you will be told that there is a problem contacting Sibelius on the Internet. To register Sibelius 6 on Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8, you must choose the Register using a web browser on this or another computer radio button on the first page of the Register Sibelius dialog. If you are running Sibelius 6, you should ensure you are running Sibelius 6.2 for the best experience: chose Help > Check For Updates to make sure you're up-to-date. This combination gives you the greatest performance and reliability. We always recommend running the latest version of Sibelius on newer versions of Mac OS X.
